Am I SAFE? AM I SECURE?

If your highest need is to feel SAFE or SECURE, you are looking for power and/or control. Our goal isn’t to control or micromanage others but to lower our anxiety and make our world feel safer. We can explore who in the past and currently makes decisions and has the last word. This perspective and understanding, along with recognizing Who ultimately is in control, lowers our anxiety. Fear loses its grip and we don’t have to be hypervigilant anymore. We can exhale and our shoulders lower. When this anxiety shrinks, we can be amazing protectors, can be generous and build firm foundations for others.

From workshops participants, here are some of God’s truths that have set them free:

Q1 – Am I SAFE?

·      Exodus 23:20 – (Lord’s presence with the Israelites) “See, I am sending an angel before you to protect you on your journey and lead you safely to the place I have prepared for you.

·      Psalm 14:2,4 “The Lord alone is my refuge, my place of safety; His faithful promises are your armor and protection.”

·      Psalm 91:14 – “The Lord says, ‘I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. When they call on me, I will answer… I will rescue and honor them. ‘”

·      Psalm 23:1-3,6 – The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength.
Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life,
and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.”

·      Psalm 59:16 – (NLT) “But as for me, I will sing about your power. Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love. For you have been my refuge, a place of safety when I am in distress.”

·      Hebrews 13:5 – “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.”

Q2 – Am I SECURE?

·      Luke 6:38 – “Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.”

·      Matthew 6:33 –  “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”
